10   Questions about the Meter Readings

10.1   The meter reader visited my premise, but I was not present. Can I submit my actual readings in any way?

Yes, as long as you submit your readings within 5 working days from the meter reader visit. You can send us an e mail or call on our freephone 80072222 to submit such readings. It is important to provide us with your account number and ID Number.

10.2   The meter reader visited my premise even though I have a smart meter installed. Why is this?

The meter reader will continue visiting your premise to register readings until both your electricity and water meter have been replaced / adapted with smart devices, and your area has been commissioned for remote reading. The whole process may take a few months. The Utilities will inform through post when your devices will be read remotely without the intervention of the meter reader.

10.3   When does the meter reader visit my premise?

A meter reader will visit your premise twice a year until your devices are read remotely.

10.4   What happens if the meter reader does not find anyone on location?

If this is the case, the meter reader will post a memo at the premise, informing about the visit. The consumer will have 5 working days to call and submit the readings on freephone 8007 2222.

10.5   How can I verify that the readings taken by the meter reader are correct?

The meter reader should provide you with a chit detailing the date, time and readings taken.
